Your island, and theirs

The Aquos Foundation’s mission is to support, protect and nurture our island’s unique marine life, flora and fauna, for the greater good for years to come.

Banwa is a long-established nesting habitat for the critically endangered Hawksbill Turtle. It’s also home to a prospering population of the indigenous Tabon Bird, the rare island dwelling Mantanani Scops Owl, and hundreds of other species especially suited to our unique environment and climate.

One example of the Foundation’s commitment to Banwa and it’s local communities is a reef regeneration programme, for which we’ve invested in reef ball placements to stimulate the growth of new corals, providing new habitats for the island’s treasured marine life. Ultimately, this will also benefit the local communities as the fish stocks will be replenished as a result of habitat regeneration and also the considered implementation of controlled fishing zones.

The Aquos Foundation will also play a key role in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, fully integrating Banwa into the local communities, helping to educate and inspire through our work with expert wildlife and environmental advisors alike.

Aquos Foundation is committed to the work of the Marine Protection Areas of the Philippines as featured in the Grid documentary here.

Banwa Private Island will become wholly available for charter upon finalisation of pending regulatory documentation which is expected imminently.
